Mental Health Support Specialist
About the Role:We are seeking a full-time Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. The successful candidate will be based out of our Cherokee or Storm Lake location and will cover Cherokee and Buena Vista counties.
The primary responsibilities of this role include providing supportive services, skill building, behavioral intervention, and crisis planning services to adults with a serious mental illness while utilizing community support or habilitation services. Services will be provided to individuals in their homes and community settings.
Salary: $21.64 - $23.80 per hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supportive services, skill building, behavioral intervention, and crisis planning services to adults with a serious mental illness
- Utilize community support or habilitation services to meet individual needs
- Work with clients in their homes and community settings
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with adults with mental illness
- Computer skills
- Valid driver's license and insurance
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- PTO - 160 hours first year with annual increases
