Position Overview

The Laboratory Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations by executing a variety of essential tasks. This position is integral to ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine Laboratory Functions: Conduct various standard laboratory procedures with precision to assist professional staff and enhance production workflows.
  • Specimen Management: Responsible for sorting and receiving specimens, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Instrument Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Data Recording: Engage in laboratory tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, and maintaining temperature charts for specimen storage and retrieval.
  • Preparation of Reagents: Prepare necessary reagents and media to support laboratory testing.
  • Specimen Preparation: Prepare specimens for testing, including building worklists, aliquoting samples, and checking for clots.
  • Quality Assurance: Execute QA/QC duties as assigned to maintain high standards of laboratory practice.
  • Pending List Resolution: Address and resolve pending lists to ensure timely processing of specimens.
