About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Alumni Engagement and Community Outreach. This key role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to engage and retain alumni, foster strong relationships with the university community, and promote the university's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Alumni Engagement and Outreach: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to engage and retain alumni, including the planning and execution of reunion programming, affinity-based events, and other initiatives that promote alumni involvement and giving.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with university departments and divisions to develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni, including the six TU Colleges, to advance the university's mission and goals.
  • Volunteer Management: Oversee the management of the TUAA Alumni Alliances and Towson University Student Foundation, ensuring effective volunteer engagement and leadership development.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze alumni data to identify trends and opportunities for engagement, and develop targeted strategies to increase alumni participation and giving.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Plan and execute high-quality events that showcase the university's mission and values, including homecoming programming and other alumni-focused events.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage and supervise staff as determined, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and five or more years of related experience in constituent relations, volunteer management, fundraising, donor relations, and event planning.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the university and the Office of Alumni Relations in a professional and effective manner. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: In-depth knowledge of constituent relations, volunteer management, fundraising, donor relations, and event planning, with a strong understanding of the higher education landscape and the role of alumni in advancing university goals.
