Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Lee Health. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and support to our Adult Infectious Disease department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient safety and perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, and assist in minor procedures.
  • Process lab specimens, operate medical equipment, and provide patient instructions.
  • Handle and administer medications according to regulatory standards and organizational policy.
  • Collect, communicate, and document accurate patient information/data and maintain medical records.
  • Coordinate requests for information and prescriptions, and maintain patient care areas.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare the medical assistant to take national CMA, CCMA, or RMA medical assistant certification exam preferred.
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of degree/diploma from accredited medical assisting program.
  • CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification preferred. BLS certification required (must be obtained within first 90 days of hire).
