We are seeking a Full-Time Licensed Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW/LCSW-C) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LGPC or LCPC) to serve as a Behavioral Health Specialist in the medical department at a correctional facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including documentation of findings, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
- Make referrals to psychiatry when necessary.
- Conduct risk assessments using structured interviews and risk assessment tools.
- Manage individuals at risk for suicide and/or engaging in self-harm using established protocols.
- Serve as the mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
- Facilitate admission and placement of individuals to forensic hospitals when necessary.
- Monitor all mental health services provided.
- Ensure that standards of care are in accordance with national and accepted psychiatric/psychological standards.
- Develop and conduct in-service education programs.
- Collect data and prepare monthly reports.
- Must be licensed as a LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
- Must hold a master's degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical coursework, training, and/or experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience, with experience in substance abuse/MAT preferred.
