Job Summary

Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is seeking a Visiting Professor of Biology to join the Department of Biology at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's environmental science major and teach field biology and environmental science courses.

Responsibilities
  • Teach field biology and environmental science courses, including general ecology, environmental sustainability, and comparative vertebrate anatomy.
  • Contribute to the SNU semester study abroad program in Costa Rica by teaching a field biology course and leading research projects involving undergraduate students.
  • Serve as the SNU representative to the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies.
  • Provide student advising and committee service.
Qualifications
  • M.S. in biology or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a Christian liberal arts university in the Wesleyan tradition.
  • Understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Ability to interact with students and pursue academic excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in biology or a related field.
  • Teaching and post-doctoral research experience.
  • Demonstrated field research.
  • Aptitude for using online technology to facilitate learning.
