Job Summary

As a Maintenance Lead Technician at Republic Services, you will provide direction to a team of technicians to ensure that all repairs and maintenance of equipment are performed in compliance with the Company's safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations.

You will be responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of, and advanced working proficiency in, various vehicle components and systems, including chassis, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain and steering systems, and heating and air conditioning systems.

You will also provide coaching on diagnostic techniques to subordinate technicians, perform external repair inspections, and schedule repair work to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is done in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expert knowledge of, and advanced working proficiency in, various vehicle components and systems.
  • Provide direction to technicians assigned to your work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Perform line maintenance welding and repair diagnostics on more complex repairs.
  • Inspect repairs done by a third-party vendor to ensure all work has been properly completed in accordance with the Company's safety procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Act as a mentor to technicians and perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some of the following heavy truck or automotive systems: suspensions, steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus but not required.
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
