We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Scientist - Lab Core to join our team at Loyola University Health System. As a Medical Lab Scientist - Lab Core, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of patient care by performing laboratory testing that is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Responsibilities- Perform all laboratory testing, including the pre-examination phase, in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care.
- Conduct and document established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluate the results of quality control testing and implement corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing.
- Participate in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures to meet the changing healthcare needs of our patients.
- Recognize and document problems that may adversely affect test performance or the reporting of test results. Identify, implement, and document appropriate corrective action or notify the technical specialist, shift supervisor, or manager.
- Perform routine maintenance functions to ensure the proper operation of the laboratory equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree/Associate Degree - Medical Laboratory Science Program
- Specific Degree(s): Medical Technology, Medical Technician, Medical Laboratory Science
