Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects and modes of vascular laboratory testing, including arterial, venous, cerebrovascular, and visceral testing according to established procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct patient assessments, obtain pertinent history, and review orders to ensure accurate and correct testing is performed.
  • Prepare preliminary reports of test results and communicate them to referring healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including worksheets, photographs, and computerized reports.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers to relay test results and determine specific testing requirements.
  • Assist the technical director in compiling quality assurance and improvement programs.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies and the ICAVL accreditation process.
  • Assist in the orientation of new employees and the proper maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Assist in patient and staff education regarding vascular disease and technology.

Requirements:

  • Certification by ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) at the time of hire and maintenance of certification on an annual basis.
  • Maintenance of CPR certification.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program and 3+ years of clinical experience in performing vascular lab testing.
  • 1+ year of experience leading programs/activities within a vein clinic (preferred).
