**Job Summary:**
This position is responsible for utilizing ultrasound equipment to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of the pediatric population and provide service to a culturally diverse population.

**Responsibilities:**

* Maintains and monitors quality assessment practices and procedures to ensure appropriate and proper patient care
* Performs other operational functions in support of assigned department to ensure quality services
* Accurately interprets oral and written requests stated in radiologic and medical terms
* Notifies imaging Manager of equipment malfunction and obtains necessary repairs
* Assesses patients' needs prior to performance of examination
* Consistent review of prior imaging studies before starting an imaging exam
* Directs questions regarding appropriateness of an ultrasound request to the Imaging Manager, Radiologist, or staff physician
* Operates and performs ultrasound exams independently according to physician's orders
* Assists in maintaining imaging files to ensure easy retrievability in a timely manner
* Assists in the preparation of images for interpretation and imaging reports for image file jackets
* Assists in the copy request for Shriners Hospital images and images received from outside medical facilities
* Monitors assigned quality assessment activities and recording of data in the designated binder as assigned
* Demonstrated awareness of the department PACS, RADNET & SHCIS program and its operation

**Qualifications:**

* Minimum: CPR, ARDMS (within 3 months of employment)
* Preferred: 1+ year of Pediatric Abdominal Ultrasound experience

**Compensation:**
The pay range for this position is $57.04 - $80.53/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
