Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Box Office Manager to join our team at LOD Staffing. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing daily and day-of-event support to our Box Office Manager, managing and tracking all financial activities of the box office, scheduling and managing all box office staff, and providing accurate information to patrons, promoters, and staff regarding current and upcoming events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and create new electronic event manifests and event masters for events, utilizing appropriate software to create, verify, view, sell, edit, and maintain ticket inventory and event information for all ticketed events at assigned locations.
  • Coordinate daily cash requirements and maintain security of all monies received.
  • Supervise, operate, and set up daily box office(s) as necessary.
  • Hire, schedule, and train staff for box office operations, including preparing ticket sales staff with current event information, preparing the box office(s) with proper supplies and equipment, and training staff on the use of computerized ticket systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons by phone and in person, providing information, resolving patron complaints, and assisting in seat relocations.
  • Authorize refunds, exchanges, and cancellations on purchased tickets.
  • Monitor event sales and maintain event histories.
  • Prepare daily sales reports, transaction journals, and deposit forms.
  • Conduct audits to balance and verify the accuracy of all revenue received.
  • Provide real-time event reports, drop counts, and other information to management, promoters, and other interested parties, as required.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in box office operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and comprehension of the various commands, reports, and procedures in the Ticketmaster system.
  • Knowledge in the use of an office computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to use various applications to prepare memorandums and informational documents for box office employees, clients, and staff.
  • Knowledge in effective customer service skills, skill in applying proper customer service technique to all situations involving clients and staff, and the ability to apply sound judgment in a hostile and stressful environment.
  • Knowledge in good time management and staffing procedures, skill in applying time management and staffing procedures when scheduling box office employees, and the ability to create schedules and communicate these schedules to box office employees and the payroll division.
  • Knowledge of Ticketmaster hardware (terminals, ticket printers, report printers, scanners, and card swipes), skill in manipulating and troubleshooting these devices, and the ability to quickly resolve issues with these devices when problems occur.
  • Knowledge of basic management techniques, skill in applying those techniques to employees, and the ability to apply those techniques to any situation that arises.
  • Knowledge of the City Cash Handling policy, skill in applying this policy to box office operations, and the ability to keep a secure environment in all box office spaces so as to maintain cash integrity as required.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching methods, skill in utilizing available teaching resources, guides, manuals, and handouts, and the ability to train new and current employees on existing and future technologies and policies.
  • Knowledge of good office management and filing systems, skill in utilizing available office storage units and equipment to create and maintain an effective filing system for storing box office information, closeouts, and reports, and the ability to keep the filing system organized and up to date.
