About the Role

The City of Reno, NV is seeking a highly skilled Records Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our City Clerk's Office, you will play a critical role in planning, administering, and overseeing our electronic records management system (ERMS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Electronic Records Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation and maintenance of our ERMS, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise staff responsible for electronic information and record lifecycle management, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of their duties.
  • Project Management: Act as a project manager and technology liaison between the City Clerk's Office and other city departments and system vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide assistance in resolving operational and administrative problems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our records management processes.
  • Communication: Coordinate with various stakeholders, including city departments, external agencies, and the public, to ensure effective cooperation and collaboration.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all records management activities comply with relevant federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Training and Development: Stay up-to-date with new trends and innovations in records management and provide training and guidance to staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a field related to records management.
  • Experience: Two years of responsible professional-level administrative and management analysis experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
