Job Summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Camp Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our day camp program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing program-specific activities for campers, ensuring a safe and healthy environment, and providing exceptional customer service to parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement programs and safety protocols that promote the physical, mental, social, and spiritual development of campers.
  • Teach basic skills to campers in a safe and respectful manner.
  • Report any difficult or unusual situations to the Camp Director/Unit Leader.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and fun environment for children.
  • Provide extraordinary customer service to parents.
  • Recognize and implement safety standards in all program activities.
  • Participate effectively with other staff in implementing creative and fun camp activities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma completed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with children in a structured setting.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, including a Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
