Job Overview

TIER4 GROUP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of software quality, managing defect detection, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance software systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requirements and develop detailed test scenarios to ensure complete traceability from requirements to test cases and outcomes.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test scripts with the goal of increasing automation over time.
  • Document and report test execution progress, issues, and outcomes in detail.
  • Identify and manage risks to testing schedules, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Log, analyze, and resolve defects while collaborating with development teams to ensure solutions are integrated efficiently.
  • Assist UAT Leads with tools, scripting, and execution processes, offering improvements where necessary.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps to manage work items, test plans, and defect tracking, with occasional usage of pipelines and repositories for code promotions.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience as a Test Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst, or in a similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience leading testing for large-scale, production-level systems.
  • Proven experience managing both manual and automated testing processes in complex IT environments.
Technical Requirements
  • Automation Tools: Experience with UiPath (expertise preferred).
  • Database Skills: Strong skills in Oracle SQL and familiarity with MongoDB (ability to perform simple queries for validation).
  • Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of Java Spring architecture (at a non-developer level, focused on backend automation and integrations).
  • Operating Systems: Comfortable navigating Linux for log retrieval and troubleshooting.
  • Middleware: Hands-on experience with WebLogic.
  • DevOps: Proficient with Azure DevOps, particularly in utilizing Test Plans, Agile Task Boards, and work item tracking. Familiarity with running pre-existing pipelines (though no setup is required).
Competencies and Skills
  • Expertise in both manual and automated testing for client-server and web applications.
  • Strong SQL query skills in both relational (Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to quickly adapt to new applications and delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate daily with Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers.
  • Proven ability to thrive in dynamic environments transitioning from Waterfall to Agile methodologies.
  • Strong planning, negotiation, and influencing abilities within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (while not setting up pipelines, working within them is crucial).
  • Knowledge of Confluent Cloud, Kafka, and mobile application testing is a plus (enhancements to mobile testing will begin in 1Q25).
  • Familiarity with Risk-Based Testing and Scaled Agile delivery principles.
Additional Notes
  • The successful candidate will need to excel in both manual and automated testing. While we aim to increase automation, manual testing remains a critical component.
  • MongoDB experience is preferred, but candidates with strong SQL skills and a willingness to learn MongoDB will still be considered.
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills are essential, as the role involves daily interaction with various departments and stakeholders.
  • You will not be required to create new CI/CD pipelines but will work within existing ones.
