Job Overview

APTIM Environmental Infrastructure, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrographic Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Tampa, Florida, Boca Raton, Florida, or Baton Rouge, LA. As a key member of our coastal engineering practice, you will be responsible for performing a variety of hydrographic work in support of geophysical and geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Lead Hydrographer/Party Chief for coastal and marine survey projects
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hydrographic systems
  • Collect, process, and interpret multibeam and single-beam sonar data
  • Manage field projects from planning to execution, logistics, team management, and general safety
  • Provide field QAQC of hydrographic data
  • Ensure conformance to technical standards and company policies
  • Develop plans, specifications, analyses, and reports
  • Communicate technical concepts and results through oral and written presentations
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in hydrography, geomatics, geology, geophysics, or related field
  • 5-20 years relevant experience
  • Category A Hydrographer Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Licensed Professional Surveyor or ability to obtain within 6 months, licensed in FL, LA, or NC
  • Strong technical/scientific writing skills
  • Experience with multibeam sonar survey design, implementation, data collection, and interpretation
  • Project setup and marine hydrographic data interpretation experience using Hypack
  • Experience with ArcGis, AutoCAD, Surfer software
  • Experience mobilizing vessels for hydrographic surveys
