The Culinary Operations Manager will oversee all functions and personnel within the Dining Service Department, reporting directly to the Director of Culinary Services. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a positive service culture in the dining area through effective staff training. Assess service quality and implement systems to enhance meal delivery efficiency while ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere.
  2. Guarantee that staff delivers exceptional service, enhancing resident satisfaction during meals. Regularly engage with residents to understand their preferences and feedback regarding meals.
  3. Recruit, interview, hire, train, and manage dining department staff in alignment with company standards. Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues with the Director of Culinary Services.
  4. Manage employee schedules to align with departmental labor budgets and oversee daily labor management.
  5. Ensure the dining area is maintained to the highest cleanliness standards, including equipment, surfaces, and linens.
  6. Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and addressing any unsafe practices promptly.
  7. Encourage teamwork among staff, demonstrate initiative in problem-solving, and positively influence co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is essential.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in food service is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
