Job Title: Fire Supply and Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Supply and Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of New Orleans, LA. As a Fire Supply and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing responsible duties involving ordering, stocking, issuing, and delivering equipment and supplies to all personnel and facilities of the New Orleans Fire Department. You will also perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on buildings and equipment in the Fire Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Ordering, stocking, issuing, and delivering equipment and supplies to all personnel and facilities of the New Orleans Fire Department
  • Performing skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on buildings and equipment in the Fire Department
  • Performing related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Three (3) years of full-time technical and mechanical experience in the repair and maintenance of specialized breathing apparatus which must have included work with compressed air
  • OR: Three (3) years of full-time experience in working with specialized fire equipment, including the receiving, recording, and distribution of supplies, materials and equipment
  • OR: Three (3) years of full-time technical and mechanical experience in the maintenance and repair of specialized fire equipment and apparatus
  • OR: Three years of full-time experience in construction, building maintenance, and/or grounds maintenance
  • OR: Three (3) years of full-time technical and mechanical experience in the maintenance and repair of small household appliances
  • A valid Driver's License & High School Diploma

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
