Job Summary:

The Culinary Director is a key member of the LibertyHealth System team, responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our senior living facilities. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise in menu management, procurement, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Management: Develop, review, and plan menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and freshness.
  • Procurement and Budget: Manage the culinary department budget, tracking expenses and making recommendations for cost-effective inventory control procedures.
  • Staffing: Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training department personnel, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service to our residents.
  • Customer Dining: Create a positive dining experience for our customers, promoting their independence, choice, and overall well-being.
  • Miscellaneous: Monitor meal portion controls, minimize waste, and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Restaurant and Hospitality Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive food and beverage management experience.
  • Senior-level experience in back and front of the house operations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong self-organization and communication skills.
  • Budgeting experience in opening and operating F&B departments.
  • Experience in managing a diverse workforce.
  • ServSafe and TIPS certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of Menu, Point of Sale, and Inventory Management Software.
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
