The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is a critical member of our team at Summit Fire & Security, responsible for installing and maintaining fire protection systems in various structures. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Maintenance: Cut, fabricate, and install steel and CPVC pipe, sprinkler heads, valves, and other fire protection components in accordance with blueprints and construction documents.
- System Design and Implementation: Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure sprinkler systems are constructed as designed.
- Quality Control: Inspect and test installed systems to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with field foremen, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Training and Development: Assist in the training of sprinkler apprentices and participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience installing pipe systems and valves, and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Skills and Abilities: Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, and ability to train others.
- Physical and Environmental Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently lift over 50 pounds, and work at heights. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required by company safety policies.
