Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Appraiser to join our team at American Freedom Insurance Company.

This role involves reviewing damaged vehicle information to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage, and estimating parts and labor to repair the damage.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estimating programs, collision repair, and local market trends, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and revise repair cost estimates and communicate with repair shops
  • Complete Total Loss evaluations and determine Salvage Value of total loss vehicles
  • Prepare claim reports to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency
  • Build and maintain relationships with quality, cost-conscious repair shops

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in writing auto damage estimates or equivalent body shop experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of estimating programs, collision repair, and local market trends
  • Strong understanding of the local marketplace
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills
