We are seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to join our Equipment Department at Primoris Services Corporation. As a key member of the team, you will support the Service Manager in daily operations, ensuring seamless execution of equipment repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination:

You will be responsible for initiating and managing repair orders, scheduling vendor appointments, and maintaining accurate records of vehicle and equipment maintenance.

  • Initiate and manage repair orders, input technician notes, review for accuracy, and obtain approval for repairs on company-owned assets above designated thresholds before finalizing.
  • Schedule vendor repair appointments and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Database Management and Record-Keeping:

You will ensure the vehicle and equipment database is current, tracking daily vehicle mileage, hours, and heavy equipment usage, and update repair and maintenance records with the latest service and preventive maintenance (PM) status.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

You will work closely with the Repair & Maintenance team to ensure timely servicing and communicate planned maintenance with vendors and job sites, while also tracking the progress of actual versus planned maintenance and repairs for light vehicles.

  • Industry Knowledge and Regulatory Compliance:

You will apply industry terminology for accurate service writing, estimating, and parts requests, and support the service manager in ensuring the shop complies with government regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience in purchasing and sourcing parts/materials is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automotive and equipment industries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.
