Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with staff to address patient-related clinical challenges and act as a resource during critical situations such as admissions and transfers.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure optimal patient care and efficient resource utilization, while supporting staff in resolving service-related issues.
- Oversee investigations of patient incidents and medication errors, ensuring proper documentation and corrective action plans are implemented.
- Act as a liaison for staff to ensure effective processes are in place for patient care, collaborating with various departments to enhance quality care delivery.
- Identify trends in operational challenges and communicate these to unit management.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to streamline processes, including obtaining reports from various healthcare facilities.
- Manage public relations issues, maintaining positive relationships with staff, the public, and media, while addressing inquiries and complaints appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Serve as a key individual during the absence of safety officers, intervening in critical situations as necessary.
- Perform patient positioning and transport duties, adhering to proper techniques and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles.
Licensure and Certification:
- Registered Nurse license required in the state of practice.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience with demonstrated expertise is typically required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and listening abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist frequently during shifts.
- Functional sight and hearing are necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform sliding transfers with assistance.
- Exposure to various hazards, requiring the use of protective clothing and equipment.
