Recovery Coach

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Recovery Peer Advocate. As a Recovery Peer Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families navigating the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment system.

Our SHERPA Program is a specially trained team of peer recovery coaches offering guidance and support to individuals and families. As a Recovery Peer Advocate, you will engage people in strengths-based, trauma-informed peer support, providing education, advocacy, and linkage to recovery resources.

• Engage individuals in strengths-based, trauma-informed peer support, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
• Provide education and guidance on recovery options, harm reduction, and safety.
• Advocate for individuals as they navigate the SUD treatment system, ensuring access to necessary resources and services.
• Collaborate with treatment providers, community organizations, and family members to ensure comprehensive support.
• Document service utilization and outcomes with respect and confidentiality.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must obtain NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA or CRPA-P) within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of recovery and community resources, with at least 2 years of experience in substance use or mental health recovery services.
• Intermediate computer skills and a valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving history.

• Competitive salary: $24.73/hour.
• Full-time, non-exempt position with 35 hours/week.
