Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Individual Giving Officer to join our team at Claremont McKenna College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to cultivate and secure leadership-level annual and major philanthropic gifts from CMC alumni, parents, and friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement prospect qualification strategies to identify and cultivate new donors
  • Build and maintain relationships with assigned prospects, including regular communication and solicitations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Advancement and Research & Relationship Management team to develop and implement prospect strategies
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 200 prospects, including tracking and updating records
  • Participate in events and activities to engage prospective donors with the College
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent training or experience
  • Three or more years of successful fundraising experience, including the solicitation of leadership gifts
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
Working Conditions

The regular hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening work will at times be expected. Travel may be required.

Classification and Status

This is an exempt, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
