Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized in-home and community supports to youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Implement programs created by supervisors and take data on all programs, entering the data in the online data management system.
- Progress notes for each session visit.
- Manage any unanticipated events or unstable situations.
- Ensure the implementation of the Individual Support Plan.
- Ensure that care is provided according to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements to the program, as required.
- Discuss any concerns with the supervisor.
- Provide information to other healthcare professionals, as required.
- Consult with family members and other supports to ensure that care is ongoing and that all youth's needs are identified and met.
- Encourage youth and families to be involved in care, if appropriate.
- Establish and maintain current, accurate, confidential files for each client.
- Comply with the agency's attendance policy and report to work regularly.
- Adhere to safety and health practices by complying with workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
- Comply with the agency's Corporate Compliance and Ethical Conduct policies.
- Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or a related field of study.
- Experience working with children ages 0-18 in a classroom or 1:1 setting, implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, and teaching activities of daily living (ADLS).
- One year of supervised experience implementing Individual Habilitation Plans, Essential Life Plans, Individual Support Plans, or Behavioral Support Plans.
- Knowledge of current and best practice behavioral intervention strategies.
- Learning theories and instructional methods.
- Ethics, laws, and regulations of acceptable behavior interventions.
- Developmental processes of children, adolescents, and adults.
- Intellectual and behavioral disabilities, outside of Autism.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
- Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology.
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols.
- Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with driving privileges in good standing.
