Role Summary and Requirements

As a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, you will provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and their families about various health conditions, and offer emotional support to both patients and their loved ones. Registered Nurses must exercise independent and sound judgment in delivering a wide range of services as per the nursing practice scope.

Key Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment options, and care of patients according to their age group.

- Promote customer service initiatives within the healthcare setting.

- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care tailored to meet the needs of patients.

- Exhibit proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.

- Common diagnoses include respiratory distress, prematurity, hypoglycemia, apnea, bradycardia, sepsis, temperature instability, and hyperbilirubinemia.

Required Qualifications:

- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.

- Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or an equivalent Board of Nursing.

- Current BLS certification (additional certifications as required for the area of employment).

- NRP Certification within 90 days of hire.

- STABLE certification within 6 months of hire.

- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required; NICU experience is highly preferred.
