Job Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in wire alarm systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in cabling and infrastructure installation.
  • 2-3 years of experience in lift and conduit installation.
  • Phone systems experience, preferably 3 years.
  • Ability to travel to job sites with potential overnights.
  • Potential for flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb 12 ft ladders and experience with scissor or boom lifts.
  • Knowledge of National Building Codes and standards.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently.

Job Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including voice and data infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, including troubleshooting and testing.
  • Complete required paperwork, including installation checklists and service orders.
  • Label and identify cable systems, including Cat5, 5e, Cat6, and 7 voice/data twisted pair cable.
  • Build pathways for cable, including cable tray, ladder rack, and J-hooks.
  • Disassemble equipment and inspect and test wiring to locate and repair problems.
  • Terminate and label work-station outlets.
  • Troubleshoot and test voice and data cable.
  • Communicate with on-site customer contacts in a professional manner.
  • Access network equipment using Putty or SSH.
  • Troubleshoot NVRs, IP cameras, network devices, and intrusion/fire alarm systems.
  • Record time and materials used on daily work assignments.
  • Perform fiber termination and installations.
  • Perform CCTV installation and telecommunications repairs.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent, preferred.

Work Environment:

  • On the road, with potential for overtime and weekend availability.

COVID-19 Considerations:

  • All technicians are required to wear a mask while on-site at client premises.

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay commensurate with experience, with potential for overtime.
