Job Summary:
Rural King is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic Specialist, you will be responsible for managing work orders for customer repairs and conducting servicing and repairs on a variety of equipment, including diesel-powered compact tractors, garden tractors, mowing equipment, UTVs, lawn and garden equipment, and company-owned fork trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality and prompt on-site repair solutions for assigned work orders.
- Interact professionally with customers and other audiences for sales support and education.
- Ensure safe and proper equipment and tools usage.
- Comply with legal regulations for hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Complete necessary warranty documentation according to manufacturer requirements.
- Manage special order parts for work orders as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean shop area for a safe environment.
- Perform service tasks following safety standards and manufacturer requirements.
- Utilize computer systems for parts identification, repair documentation, and claims processing.
- Read and understand operating and repair manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and drawings.
- Provide updates on completed work, identified issues, and upcoming schedules.
- Assist in loading and unloading customer machines for repairs and deliveries.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and servicing on machines.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of diesel repair experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Advanced mechanical skills in small engine, diesel engine, electrical, air conditioning, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without frequent supervision.
Physical Demands:
- Maintain seated or standing position for extended durations.
- Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard.
- Lift, push, and/or pull minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
- Use of ladder, pallet jack, and forklift.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.
