Mammography Radiographer

The Mammography Radiographer at Memorial Hermann Health System plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing radiographic procedures to aid physicians in detecting abnormalities and diagnosing patients.
This position emphasizes the importance of patient safety, quality assurance, and compliance with radiation safety protocols. The successful candidate will demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Perform mammography radiographic exams on patients ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures, including preparing patients for the exam, explaining the procedure, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients for the exam, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring technical quality of the images.
- Enter and monitor patient data, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on mammography equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adhering to accreditation standards.
- Identify and report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Participate in emergency call rotations within the department, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; Graduate of an approved program of mammography technology.
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
- Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
- Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.
Mammography Radiographers work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
