About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Manager to lead our Product Analytics function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding a team of data scientists to provide insights that drive data-informed decisions in the Product Development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of data scientists to deliver high-quality analytics work
  • Oversee the team's efforts in reporting, analytics, and experimentation for Product at Handshake
  • Collaborate with Data, Product, and Engineering leaders to define a long-term vision for the Product Analytics team and translate it into actionable quarterly roadmaps
  • Contribute directly to analytics work when needed, acting as a player-coach and thought partner to team members
  • Partner with Product and Engineering Leadership to establish best practices and processes for Product Development with the goal of enabling product engineering teams to self-serve for basic analytics tasks
  • Shape the mission, technical direction, and culture of the Data Science and Analytics team
  • Work with Relevance, Analytics Engineering, and Data Engineering teams on high-impact data projects
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a data scientist or related function, including past experience in a managerial role
  • Strong technical expertise in Product Analytics and statistical methodologies (A/B Testing)
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other disciplines at both leadership and operational levels
  • Passion for developing and coaching team members
  • Commitment to team members' well-being
  • Experience in creating and delivering long-term strategies, projects, and hiring plans
  • Expertise in SQL and Python
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, synthesis, advocacy, and evangelism
