Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for use in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist radiologists in performing special procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, positioning them correctly for optimal image quality.
  • Explain imaging procedures and obtain informed consent from patients as necessary.
  • Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, selecting the most appropriate settings for each examination.
  • Identify and interpret images, determining if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Photograph and record images, attaching identification tags to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Discuss test results with supervisory personnel, determining if additional examinations are required.
  • Report equipment issues to the Director, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Perform mammography exams, adhering to FDA guidelines.
  • Transport patients as needed, providing a safe and comfortable experience.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media, oral and IV opaque media, and nuclear medicine.
  • Operate CT scanners, performing related tasks as required.
  • Rotate on-call duties, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Completion of training courses in Ultrasound Technology, Nuclear Medicine, and CT scan, where available.
  • Maintenance of state licenses, as required.
