Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) to join our team at Northrop Grumman. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) solutions for our aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement E3 design guidelines and procedures
  • Design and analyze EMI filters, circuit layout, and shielding for E3 compliance
  • Conduct E3 testing and analysis using commercially available software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure E3 requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain E3 technical documentation and procedures
  • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced E3 engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of experience OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of experience OR Doctorate in a STEM discipline and 4 years of experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance after start of employment
  • Experience with MIL-STD-464 or MIL-STD-461
  • 2 years of experience in RF, Test, or design engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry
  • Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments for E3 compliance
  • Extensive design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout, and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable and harnessing design
  • Working knowledge and experience in modeling and simulation of E3 using commercially available software
