Job Summary:
The Mental Health Support Specialist provides direct patient care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse, performing non-professional patient care services, crisis intervention, therapeutic interactions, and behavior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support to patients with medical and behavioral issues
- Assist in crisis intervention and therapeutic interactions
- Manage patient behavior and maintain a safe and respectful environment
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in a clinical-related area
- 1 year of experience in mental health preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College courses in nursing or a related field preferred
- Nurse Aide I certification required
- Crisis Prevention Institute certification preferred
Work Schedule:
Varying hours, including weekends and as needed
