Europa Village Winery and Resort is a leading wine country destination offering an unparalleled Old World European experience. As a forward-thinking organization, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Strategist to join our team.

Job Description

We are looking for a results-driven Lead Financial Strategist to oversee our accounting strategy and manage the accounting function. This role will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with the operations function of the company. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and supervising all aspects of accounting from month-end close to tax compliance. Experience with retail inventory management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the accounting operations at the Europa Village Winery and Resort.
  2. Manage the month-end close process and prepare a monthly financial package.
  3. Present the monthly financial package to the management team.
  4. Manage year-end financial GAAP audit and prepare the audited financial statements and disclosures.
  5. Prepare monthly KPIs for Europa management.
  6. Manage wine inventory by accurately tracking and recording wine production and lead in quarterly inventory counts.
  7. Analyze and properly cost all inventories, including wine, F&B, and retail.
  8. Prepare, update, and maintain winery standard operating procedures.
  9. Prepare various monthly departmental analysis reports.
  10. Participate in weekly head of department meetings.
  11. Maintain construction in progress workpapers for multiple projects, including cost segregation study workpapers.
  12. Maintain fixed asset schedules.
  13. Maintain capital expenditure schedules.
  14. Monthly analysis of investor and capital balance sheet accounts.
  15. Prepare and record journal entries, including monthly accruals.
  16. Manage the general ledger.
  17. Assist and lead departmental system implementations.
  18. Lead financial review with departmental heads.
  19. Plan and lead year-end physical inventory counts.
  20. Assist in preparation of annual I-924A Regional Center Certification.
  21. Other ad-hoc reporting, as needed.

Requirements
  1. A minimum of BS or BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Real Estate Development. A CPA or MBA designation is preferred.
  2. High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data management. Strong ability to use and integrate other software tools, including Oracle Financial Cloud, MS Office, and others.
  3. Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations and community.
Salary

$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
