Job Overview

The Field Maintenance Technician is a critical role at FlexSteel, responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of our equipment and products. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.

As a Field Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our equipment and assets, as well as troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in the field. You will work closely with our operations team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and Troubleshoot Equipment: Diagnose and repair complex equipment issues, using your technical expertise to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Work with Operations Team: Collaborate with our operations team to prioritize tasks, coordinate schedules, and ensure seamless execution of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Document Work Activities: Maintain accurate records of all work activities, including maintenance tasks, repairs, and any notable issues or findings.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems, as well as experience with pipe fabrication and installation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Develop creative solutions to complex problems, often working under tight deadlines and with limited resources.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with team members, management, and customers to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines to ensure efficient completion of maintenance and repair activities.
Education and Experience
  • Degree Requirements: Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years of experience in a maintenance or repair role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Certifications: Hold current certifications in areas such as OSHA, CPR/First Aid, and/or hazardous materials handling, depending on specific job requirements.

Salary Estimate: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
