Position Summary
The Lead Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in the Emergency Department, overseeing operations and ensuring optimal patient experiences. This position requires a proactive individual who can serve as a key resource for team members, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a knowledgeable resource for staff and customers, providing assistance and resolving inquiries effectively.
2. Demonstrate independence in task management while being accountable for responsibilities.
3. Exhibit outstanding customer service skills and support new employee orientation as a mentor.
4. Oversee daily operations, adjusting staffing levels to maintain adequate coverage during absences.
5. Facilitate ongoing education and training initiatives, developing materials to meet departmental needs.
6. Drive process improvements and ensure the adoption of new practices within the team.
7. Utilize analytical skills for decision-making, project management, and report generation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; an associate degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of two years of experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is required.
- Five years of experience in customer service is preferred, along with prior healthcare experience.
