Position Overview

Work Schedule

  • Flexible Hours
  • Available from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Weekdays, with potential for weekend and evening shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide individualized training for adults with developmental disabilities.

· Ensure clients are appropriately dressed and prepared for employment.

· Instruct employees on new job responsibilities.

· Collaborate with supervisors to address conflicts and scheduling challenges.

· Assist clients with work-related scheduling and adjustments.

· Discuss behavioral concerns with the Director of Supported Employment and support clients in improving their conduct.

· Maintain up-to-date service purchase documentation for each client.

· Implement workplace safety protocols at all job sites.

· Conduct annual safety assessments at work locations.

· Participate in CARF accreditation reviews every three years.

· Complete necessary documentation for the Department of Rehabilitation by the end of each month.

· Timely submission of required reports for the Regional Center of the East Bay (daily, weekly, monthly).

· Provide coverage for absent colleagues as needed.

Educational Background:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services preferred, or significant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications:

· Innovative teaching skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.

· Comfortable meeting new individuals and engaging effectively.

· Capable of working independently.

· Dependable and punctual.

· Must possess a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.

· Ability to pass fingerprint Livescan clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Mobility: Frequent movement between locations, standing and walking for at least 85% of the workday while assisting clients.
  • Strength: Some sedentary tasks; ability to bend, lift, and squat with items weighing up to 40 lbs. Required to assist clients with physical impairments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Primarily indoor work with some outdoor activities accompanying clients for daily tasks.
  • Stairs: Occasional use of stairs to access various work areas.

COVID-19 Precautions:

All personnel, clients, and visitors must wear masks, maintain social distancing, and undergo screening upon entering facilities. Weekly on-site testing is provided, and vaccination is mandatory for staff.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year working with adults with developmental disabilities in a vocational context (preferred).

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Driver's License (mandatory)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (preferred)

Work Location: Primarily mobile, engaging with clients in various settings.
