Job Summary

Confluence Health is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biomedical technology and experience with medical device maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including infusion pumps, ophthalmology devices, and non-invasive blood pressure units.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of equipment management programs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  3. Maintain accurate documentation of work assignments, parts, and equipment usage.
  4. Travel to various locations to perform job-related tasks and work directly with users of medical equipment.
  5. Collaborate with the Biomedical Department Manager to discuss repairs and inspections that require equipment downtime.
  6. Schedule and prioritize work effectively with departments to ensure minimal disruption to services.
  7. Notify the manager when equipment is outside the scope of their knowledge or requires specialized attention.
  8. Request materials in a timely manner to ensure prompt completion of tasks.
  9. Understand and comply with code and evacuation procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Apply national and manufacturer standards when performing repairs and inspections.
  11. Troubleshoot complex issues to the component level on microprocessor-based circuitry.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Biomedical Department Manager.

Requirements

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology, Military Degree in Biomedical Technology, or degree in a related field with 1 year of biomedical experience.
  • Valid driver's license and verifiable liability insurance.

Desired:

  • One year of experience in a biomedical technician position.
