About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Supervisor to join our team at AdventHealth Waterman. As a key member of our Nutrition Services department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food and service for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise food production for cafe and room service staff, ensuring compliance with quality, presentation, sanitation, and budgetary standards.
  • Assist with training of cafe and room service food service workers in proper preparation and techniques to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Supervise all staff, assigning work, training, evaluating performance, and recommending termination as necessary.
  • Ensure preparation and production work are in progress for catering activities to guarantee proper presentation, prompt service, and timely break down.
  • Suggest changes to menu to meet current customer trends and patient needs.
  • Recommend changes in policies and procedures for a more efficient and economical operation.
  • Maintain assigned components of the departmental computer system relevant to the food area.
  • Contribute to operational reports and analyses, setting forth progress, trends, recommendations, and conclusions to drive increased savings, reduced costs, and improved services.
  • Work as liaison and serve on committees within the department, with families and customers, internal and external departments, and/or various government agencies.
  • Provide leadership while making daily rounds to ensure personnel are performing required duties and meeting expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information.
  • Help conduct all departmental in-services as scheduled, actively plan and contribute to department activities.
  • Fulfill any positions when required due to staffing shortages.
  • Will to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of food service experience
  • Ability to keep records, read and understand various reports
  • Strong organization skills, knowledge of office procedures, and ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Good writing and documentation skills are essential. Communication skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in an industrial facility managing diet office and trayline functions
  • AS or BS in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field is preferred
  • Prefer at least three to five years of food service management experience in a hospital or healthcare institution
