Job Summary:
Radiation therapists are medical professionals responsible for administering high-energy radiation therapy treatments to patients with malignant and benign disease processes. This involves considering treatment techniques, patient age, and mobility to provide optimal care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Accurately scheduling and performing radiation therapy treatments
  • Conducting statistics, billing, documenting, chart rounds, imaging, and other procedural activities
  • Assisting physicians and staff during simulation, treatment room set-up, examinations, and special procedures
  • Contributing to ongoing clinical instruction and evaluation of radiation therapy students

Requirements:
To be successful as a Medical Radiation Therapy Specialist, you must be registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in Radiation Therapy (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year of hire date. A Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a comparable health-related degree is preferred. One to two years of experience as a Radiation Therapist and experienced in quality assurance activities are also preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000, depending on qualifications and location.
