ROLE SUMMARY

The Clinical Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the company's mission and vision by overseeing clinical performance activities, providing direct supervisory oversight for RNs, and serving as a collaborative resource for other clinical support personnel. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical quality improvement initiatives and standards across Wayzata Children's Clinics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provide clinical oversight for RNs across Wayzata Children's Clinics.
  2. In coordination with the Clinical Programs and Training Supervisor, establish clinical competency standards and provide annual education to all clinical support personnel within the practice sites.
  3. Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of clinical policies, protocols, and quality improvement programs.
  4. Direct efforts to ensure effective Quality Program and Performance Improvement implementation throughout the practice.
  5. Provide leadership to drive work for clinical improvement and service.
  6. Participate in the Quality & Compliance Committee and prepare and submit minutes from all associated meetings.
  7. In coordination with the Wayzata Children's Clinic Executive Leadership, develop and implement programs, initiatives, and improvement strategies across the Wayzata Children's Clinics to ensure consistency in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and other governmental requirements.
  8. Monitor and communicate with the Clinic Operations Team regarding quality improvement trends.
  9. Facilitate effective communication with Wayzata Children's Clinic leadership and its providers regarding key clinical performance improvement activities and initiatives.
  10. Responsible for facilitating investigation, required reporting, and corrective action development for serious quality or risk issues within the division.
  11. Maintain awareness of regulations, keeping abreast of pending and or implemented changes. Develop communication tools to alert the clinic teams.
  12. Participate in the development of Wayzata Children's Clinics Quality Strategic Planning.
  13. Maintain current competency with all current Quality Program initiatives.
  14. Provide education to employees and Wayzata Children's Clinic Medical Staff and support ongoing education related to Quality Program initiatives.
  15. Meet regularly with Clinic Operations Managers and encourage shared learning.
  16. Participate in the orientation of new employees to Quality Initiatives and Clinical Support Teams Protocols in coordination with the Clinical Programs and Training Supervisor.
  17. Review complaints, concerns, or questions relative to quality issues, and provide consultative leadership and support to practices and Wayzata Children's Clinics personnel as appropriate.
  18. Maintain the strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee, and physician relations.
  19. Practice and adhere to the 'Code of Conduct' philosophy and 'Mission and Value Statement'.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field OR equivalent education/experience required. Master's degree in nursing or related field OR equivalent education/experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota.

Experience:

  1. Minimum 3 years of related clinical and management experience involving quality improvement, leadership, and healthcare quality practices, as well as associated regulatory rules and laws. At least one year must have been in capacity as direct supervisor of other professional level employees.
  2. Minimum 3 years direct experience in ambulatory care quality improvement preferred.
