About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit team at Research Medical Center. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a specialized patient population in a supportive and educational setting.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by the nature and specific requirements of the department. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Performs the administration of prescribed medications. Monitors patient for therapeutic response. Notifies provider and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Conducts complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensures patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtains and witnesses consent form.
  • Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalates care concerns appropriately.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
