Dietary Technician

The Dietary Technician provides critical support to the Food Service department, ensuring the smooth operation of the diet office. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process patient food orders and diet changes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collect, post, and calculate calorie counts, charting them on weekends as needed.
- Cost out food-to-floor orders and post costs into the computer program.
- Process physician lunch orders and keep the nourishment cardex updated.
- Complete monthly diet office reports and keep the kitchen informed of patient census and Rehab Unit census.
- Assist in training new diet techs and deliver patient/guest trays as needed.
Food Handler Certification is required within 30 days of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. The ability to read and understand written instructions, numerical ability, and good communication skills are essential for this role.
