About the RoleThe Resident Care Assistant will provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with community vision, policy, and regulatory standards.
This includes assisting residents with Assisted Daily Living activities, meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
The ideal candidate will adhere to each resident's individual service plan, notifying the Resident Care Coordinator of any changes in the resident's condition.
This may include physical changes, reactions to medication, or psychosocial status changes.
The Resident Care Assistant will also assist with community activities, encouraging and assisting residents to participate.
They will encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room and escort them to and from the dining room as needed.
Assistance with serving meals and supporting residents with meals in ways that meet their individual needs and desires is also required.
The Resident Care Assistant must observe and report changes in the residents' appetite and physical abilities to eat and drink.
In the event of a resident crisis, they must act immediately, following protocol and basic first aid training.
Other duties may include disposing of incontinent products according to OSHA regulations and company policy.
Proper body mechanics when lifting and following safety guidelines are also essential.
The Resident Care Assistant must protect and maintain resident rights and encourage and support resident independence.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role, and long-term care experience is preferred.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is also desirable.
An estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
