Key Responsibilities:- Patient Positioning: Ensure optimal imaging quality through effective patient positioning and selection of appropriate technical parameters.
- Ability to position and transfer patients safely for procedures.
- Operate portable ultrasound devices as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians to determine the best technical factors for imaging.
- Patient History Collection: Gather relevant patient history to assist radiologists in accurate film interpretation.
- Ensure the radiologist receives essential information regarding the diagnostic tests.
- Work closely with radiologists to achieve optimal procedural outcomes.
- Maintain positive interactions with patients and staff throughout daily operations.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards set by accrediting organizations and the hospital to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Maintain CPR certification to enhance patient safety.
- Operate all equipment safely according to established protocols.
- Participate in safety initiatives and report any concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records for departmental needs, including supply inventories and patient statistics.
- Ensure patient records are complete and organized.
- Prepare ultrasound rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Utilize hospital information systems as required.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and practices.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance to students and fellow technologists in ultrasound procedures.
- Demonstrate respect and compassion towards all patients.
- Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies.
- Minimum of 6 months of scanning experience.
- ARDMS registration and CPR certification are required.
- Flexibility to work varying hours and respond to emergency calls.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as necessary.
- Exposure to radiation and hazardous materials may occur.
