Neonatal Care Unit Supervisor

Position: Nurse Manager (Advanced NICU)
Employment Type: Full Time - Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Flexibility in shift scheduling is available.
Key Responsibilities:- Accountable for the strategic planning and execution of patient management under the guidance of the NICU Department Director and the Chief of the Neonatology group.
- Acts as a primary liaison among physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing personnel, families, and hospital consultants.
- Collaborates with medical staff to orchestrate and facilitate the discharge process in conjunction with nursing teams and family members.
- Assesses and enhances collaborative patient care to ensure seamless continuity of neonatal services across medical, nursing, and ancillary disciplines, providing necessary feedback to management.
- Coordinates care for neonates requiring specialized attention across all involved disciplines.
- Commits to ongoing professional development and competency maintenance.
- Engages in the establishment and enhancement of patient healthcare objectives through thorough assessment, strategic planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Identifies and supports performance improvement initiatives within the unit and across other service areas.
- Ensures accurate and comprehensive documentation of all care provided.
- Exhibits fiscal responsibility by managing time effectively, minimizing waste, and promoting cost-efficiency.
- Advocates for the health, safety, and rights of patients.
- Communicates effectively with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care and meet the needs of patients.
- Demonstrates reliability in attendance, punctuality, and adherence to timekeeping standards.
- Displays a positive attitude, initiative, and motivation to achieve departmental goals.
- Upholds professional and organizational standards, practicing with integrity and ethical considerations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- BCLS certification is mandatory.
- Completion of Medication Learning Modules.
- NRP certification.
- S.T.A.B.L.E certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Preferred certifications in specialty areas.
Experience:
- Preferred clinical experience specific to the unit.
- Relocation assistance considered on a case-by-case basis.
