Job Description

Teledyne FLIR LLC is seeking a highly skilled Equipment Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new manufacturing equipment and processes to improve throughput, performance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead equipment projects from design to commissioning, ensuring that our team can consistently meet quality and quantity demands.
  • Collaborate with engineers and experts to design and develop new equipment, ensuring it meets required specifications and standards.
  • Establish equipment user requirements specifications (URS) as part of the RFP process.
  • Develop and implement problem-solving solutions to improve maintenance methods and practices, enhancing production equipment performance.
  • Responsible for creating and updating equipment life cycle documentation, including URS, FRS, SRS, Test Protocols, Qualification Docs, PMs, FMEA, Lack Out/Tag Out, and other related equipment documents.
  • Provide training to operators and support personnel on new equipment functionality.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment and manage related installation companies.
  • Support technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality to improve equipment safety, quality, and throughput in the plant.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
  • Assure equipment-related documentation is regularly developed and maintained.
  • Interface with multiple equipment integrators/suppliers to understand their equipment operation and capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement automation projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in robotics and automation preferred.
  • Strong background in engineering principles and equipment design.
  • Other skills and abilities include understanding of facilities and manufacturing equipment for fast-face production environments, experience with programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and electrical debug, hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical and controls problems with automated production equipment, and experience completing the full project life cycle from start to finish.
Salary Range:

$59,400.00-$79,310.00

Pay Transparency: The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors, including location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
