Laboratory Technical Specialist

The Laboratory Technologist Specialist will be responsible for the technical management of a subspecialty within a laboratory section in a fast-paced academic medical center.
The laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children's Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, managing test performance, quality control, CAP /other regulatory compliance, employee competency and assist in employee evaluations.
This CAP and ASHI -Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and manage test performance
- Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance
- Assist in employee evaluations and competency
- Manage a subspecialty within a laboratory section
A BS in Biology and Chemistry is preferred, and histocompatibility experience is also preferred.
The ideal candidate will have multitasking, computer skills, customer service, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
