Role Responsibilities
We are seeking a full-time Access Clinician to join our Access team. The successful candidate will hold a valid license as a psychologist, Master's social worker, counselor, or possess a similar qualification in a related behavioral health discipline. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting emergency evaluations and delivering crisis stabilization support;
- Performing assessments to establish service eligibility and providing preliminary diagnoses along with determining the appropriate level of care for services related to developmental disabilities, mental health issues, and substance use disorders.
Qualifications Required
- Completion of an accredited Master's or PhD program in Psychology, Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, or a related behavioral health field;
- Current licensure or certification in the State of Michigan as a psychologist (Limited Psychologist / LLP), social worker (Masters Social Worker / MSW), counselor (Licensed Counselor / LPC), or a related field;
- Relevant postgraduate experience in addressing severe and persistent mental health conditions, serious emotional disturbances, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use challenges.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $64,467 to $83,265, based on a standard 37.5-hour work week and years of service with the agency.
The benefits package includes:
- A generous paid leave benefit that begins accruing from the first day of employment, with approximately 24.5 paid days off in the first year. Accrual increases with length of service;
- Scheduled annual salary increases starting after one year of employment;
- 14 paid holidays per year, effective from the first day of employment;
- Eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance from the first day of employment, with the agency covering a significant portion of the costs.
Additional benefits include a medical insurance opt-out payment for those with alternative coverage, retirement benefits starting on the first day, and long-term disability and life insurance at no cost after 91 days of employment.
LCMHA also participates in various student debt relief programs, including the HRSA Loan Repayment Program and MDHHS Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program, with eligibility determined by these programs.
