Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Position in HIV Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Southwest Care Center. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Examine and diagnose patients, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed.
- Develop and manage treatment plans for patients, including preventive care and health maintenance.
- Provide education to patients and families about health issues, disease prevention, and medical treatments.
- Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare providers to coordinate quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to Southwest Care Center's policy and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, provide education and outreach to clinic staff, and supervise patient care provided by assigned staff.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of primary medical care and service programs, including policy development and recommendations for program improvements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, participating in continuing education or seminars related to job responsibilities.
- Participate in quality measures and chart review as required.
- 3 years of experience in primary health care, preferably in HIV care.
- Completion of a course of study leading to certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Current certification by the New Mexico Board of Nursing and national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- AAHIVS certification is highly desirable.
